About The Author
Sharon Lene Yorks was born and raised on a wild west show, performing as
a trick rider by the age of eight. By her teenage years, when some girls
are just learning to ride a horse, she had already ridden a bull, camel,
llama, ostrich, zebra, donkey, elephant, buffalo, zebu, and yak. Though
she admits the zebra ride only lasted a second.
Later she began competing at professional rodeos as a barrel racer, sometimes traveling to as many as five rodeos a week. In one year she made it to four different association finals and a regional, claiming her twin sister, Karen Schoenmeyer, was her toughest competitor and the driving force behind her success.
As a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature and a former member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, she is now writing about her adventures. She has two published novel and a third novel in the works. She's also written a screenplay based on her Cloverleaf series.
Sharon lives in Valley City, Ohio with her husband Donnie, and two sons, Shardon and Caylum. She also has a daughter, Stephanie, who lives in Canton with her family
