All Cassie can think about is making it to the National High School Finals Rodeo in the barrel racing. But she has a problem. She and her little horse, Scooter, are knocking over barrels and being penalized. Her twin sister, Kendra, has teamed up with Cassie's worst enemy, and are leading in points. As she battles her way to the top, Cassie is determined to do whatever it takes to become a "winner". Along the way, she learns the true meaning of the word.
Just as Cassie starts to believe that everything is going her way, an unfortunate accident sets off a chain of events that has Cassie doubting her best friend's intentions. As her insecurities build, Cassie's eight-year-old cousin, who has come to stay with them while his dad is off on a secret mission, begins to display insecurities of his own. As she tries to figure out ways to help her troubled cousin, Cassie comes to realize that things aren't always as they seem.
